- What is nattokinase?
Nattokinase is an enzyme found in the fermented Natto-Japanese fermented beans. Nattokinase has the effect of dissolving blood clot that is the risk of stasis leading to stroke, stroke. Nattokinase reduces this risk.

- Benefits of Nattokinase
+ Dissolve blood clots: Nattokinase dissolves blood clots by dissolving fibrin fibers (fibers that tie platelets to clump together to form blood clots). Nattokinase is four times as active as endogenous plasmin (the only enzyme in the body that destroys fibrin fibers) with the same mechanism as the plasmin. Due to health and age, the body's production of plasmin decreases the risk of blood clots. Nattokinashelps to enhance the body's plasmin and other anticoagulant components such as urokinase (Sumi.H et al. "A novel fibrinolytic enzyme (nattokinase) in the vegetable cheese natto ..." experience 1987).
+ Blood Pressure: Nattokinase lowers blood pressure. The Japanese eat the fermented beans over 1000 years for this purpose. Studies indicate that it lowers blood pressure by inhibiting angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE). ACE causes the blood vessels to narrow and the blood pressure to rise. Nattokinase is able to inhibit ACE, preventing thrombosis. (Maruyama M. & Sumi H. effect on Natto diet on blood pressure, JTTAS 1995).
+ Enhance blood circulation: Nattokinase aids blood circulation by helping to compensate for recirculation. It has also been shown to block atherosclerosis. (Sumi H. Healthy Mirobe "Bacillius Natto" - Japan Bio Science Laboratory).
- Mechanism of action of Nattokinase
Unlike aspirin and most other anticoagulants that inhibit fibrin production, nattokinase directly dissolves fibrin fibers, releasing platelets and releasing areas where blood flow is blocked unnecessarily. By stimulating the body to produce plasmin, nattokinase not only helps in the formation of clots, but also acts as a clot-forming ingredient. Nattokinase also inhibits Plasminogen Activator PAL-1 which is a component that limits the activity of plasmin in the body. ("Stroke and stroke with strong enzymes that can clot thaw for hours" - Health Sciences Institude, March 2002).
- Side effects of Nattokinase
Japanese people have eaten Natto beans for over 1,000 years, natto extract products have been on the market for almost 20 years without reported side effects. Actually, Nattokinase has proved to be valuable as a coagulant drug like Wafarin, Heparin without any adverse reactions, including allergies.
Nattokinase is safe for all ages and does not appear to have a quantitative limit that can be safely absorbed. However, due to its ability to dissolve blood clots, people with bleeding disorders, such as haemophiliacs, should not use nattokinase. People with ongoing bleeding problems, such as severe ulcers or new surgery, should also stop taking nattokinase. People who have had intracranial haemorrhage, or who have had ischemic stroke or ischemic stroke within six months should not take nattokinase. People with very high blood pressure are uncontrolled (systolic blood pressure greater than 200 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure greater than 110 mmHg) when using nattokinase for strict medical monitoring. Nattokinase should not be given to people taking anticoagulants, such as aspirin or warfarin; Up to now, no studies have shown the possibility of viability of the breast milk of nattokinase. Pregnant or breast-feeding mothers should refer to their doctor before using Nattokinase. It is important to note, however, that pregnant women in Japan often eat natto beans to ensure healthy babies.
